Review: True Shot Coach

I recently got the chance to review the True Shot Coach from Don’t Choke Archery. The beauty of this product is in it’s simplicity. It’s a rigid padded thing with finger loops and it will help you shoot better. I could leave the review at that but I’ll elaborate a little!

First off this is not a miracle cure for bad form. It is however a great way to learn to shoot without torquing the bow and when you relax your hand it relaxes your forearm which also helps relax your elbow and shoulder. Using it is easy, you simply order based on their sizing chart or perhaps get the new adjustable model, slip it on and you’re ready to go. I wish I had this product about a year or so ago when I couldn’t figure out why my groups weren’t getting better and it was all because of my grip. The bow I was using at the time had a very thick grip which didn’t help but it took a while for me to not only realize the problem but fully address it. That said I thought my current grip was good but using the True Shot Coach showed me that after about a dozen shots I get lazy and maybe a little tired and tend to change my grip a little. This prevented it.

At $16.95 if you are beginner or novice archer you should get one of these. If you think you’re an expert you probably aren’t and should still try it. Kidding aside, this is a very helpful piece of gear. Like I said it’s not a miracle cure for bad form but it will improve your accuracy and teach you proper grip technique. As someone who largely learned archery on their own without a lot of in-person coaching I wish I had gotten this earlier because it would have been an immense help. While the price is extremely fair Don’t Choke Archery was nice enough to let me give one away! Use the Rafflecopter widget below to enter to win!
